What do the parameters actually mean?
#1
Hi,

Does anyone have a guide to what the various parameters in Gekko actually do?
e.g. MACD
short = 10
long = 21
signal = 9

[thresholds]
down = -0.025
up = 0.025
persistence = 1

I have an idea for a strtegy, but am struggling with the syntax, hence I have been looking for guide, but have been unable to find one.

Do any of you gurus out there have one?

Many thanks,

Pete

Don't want to sound harsh but Google is your friend.

Not much people will want to reply when then there's already lots of available guides.

Hi Ballsy,

I would disagree.   Google was my first port of call, but there is not great documentation out there, hence my question.

I am not looking for anybody to create my strategy fo rme. That I intend to do myself.

Just need a half-decent guide to get me started.

Here's the first result from Google

To me that explains it but it's maybe because I already know it? I'm sure on the Gekko strategy page it has a rundown of what some of the built-in strategies are. The way I learned most of the strategies is by going into a trading site (tradingview.com is the 1st one I stumbled across) and using the crypto charts and modifying the parameters I didn't know or couldn't guess

Here's a YouTube video from one of the members of the forum (crypto49er)

He has some other guides that are very helpful.
