gekko doesn't trade the whole amount - crypt0r - 11-29-2018
hi,
everything works fine for me so far
but i have just a question because my gekko doesnt use the whole amount of currency or asset.
for example i have 1000usd and gekko buys xrp but not for the whole 1000usd, so there is always 35-40usd rest.
or when selling back from xrp to usd gekko doesn't sell all xrp, so like about 90 xrp will stay.
is this maybe misconfiguration by me or it is like some security margin so gekko can be sure the amount is big enough so the order will not be canceled or something?

Yes it is. Some exchanges (for example Binance) have limits on the precision of the amount so it's not possible to trade 100% of your balance. Besides those kind of restrictions there are also safety measures Gekko imposes relating to the price moving quickly around a buy/sell trigger.
What exchange do you trade on?

i'm trading on bitfinex, the amount that remains after each trade is always the same, in usd and xrp.
that's why i thought that gekko maybe misreads the available amount for trading.
for me it's not so important it's just more a visual thing, so i know and see like... "ok the whole amount is now in xrp... or in usd"
