Asset instead of Currency - jetboy01 - 03-31-2018
Hi There
Is it possible to configure Gekko to accumulate an Asset, instead of a currency?
For example, I'm using Kraken with a trade pair of BTC/XLM. In the default configuration it will attempt to generate more BTC, but I want to acheive an accumulation of XLM instead.

Not sure this can be currently, i asked a while back and was told that it will only work if the ability to choose asset and currency correctly. All i can suggest is try it in back test with selecting the right pair and see what you get.
@askmike - is this correct or am i missing something?

i'm not sure there is a real difference between accumulating the asset or the currency...
in the end, sell all your asset in currency and you're done ?

My question arose because I found that in a market where both the currency and asset are on the rise, I could take a profit (in currency terms), but would only be able to buy a lesser quantity of the asset at the current market price.
It might just be down to a poor strategy though, so you may be right, I'm going to perform some more backtests and think about this some more... I'll report back with my findings and bring a bit more clarity to my question.
